The Ottawa Muslim’s Women Organization honoured Isabel Metcalfe at their annual Festival of Friendship Dinner on Sunday April 30, 2018 in Ottawa.
Shortly after the the 9-11 attacks, approximately 50 Muslim women from diverse origins and ethnic backgrounds decided formed the Ottawa Muslim Women’s Organization. Its objective is to build bridges with other faith groups and the larger community of Ottawa. As well, the group strives to address the many misconceptions of Islam. Today, the Ottawa Muslim Women’s Organization is proud to count Muslim and non-Muslim members of both genders who work together to promote positive change in our community.
