Nunavut Premier Eva Aariak and other leading women from Canada’s North spoke at a Famous 5 Ottawa luncheon held on April 30 at Ottawa’s National Arts Centre.
It was a chance to take part in intelligent discussion and commentary on the role of women in the democratic process.
Famous 5 Ottawa organized the event in conjunction with the National Arts Centre’s “Northern Scene Festival”, and was made possible through the generous support of Enbridge and partnership with Norton Rose
The Enbridge Famous 5 Luncheon honours the memory of Canada’s Famous 5, the five women who blazed a trail for women’s rights in Canada. As well, the Luncheona celebrates extraordinary contemporary Canadian women from all walks of life who are playing a pivotal role as nation builders.
