Long a champion of more women in public life, Isabel has been a candidate for the House of Commons and Ottawa City Council.
At the national level, Isabel Co-chaired the campaign to ensure one third of Liberal candidates were women during the 2008 election. This first time program surpassed its goals, with 37% of candidates being female.
At the international level she has helped advance democracy and foster the role of women in public life in Ukraine, Lebanon, Albania and Azerbaijan.
